Grab your bike or running shoes and choose your adventure from differing routes on the 60+ miles of bike trails in Memphis. The Big River Crossing (BRX) - a 5,000 foot trail path that spans the Mississippi River connecting Downtown Memphis and Arkansas gives you the most spectacular view of Ole Man River and beautiful sunsets (or sunrises). BRX is the longest public pedestrian bridge across the Mississippi River. It's also the country's longest active rail/bicycle/pedestrian bridge. It serves as the connection point of Main Street to Main Street, a 10-mile multi-modal corridor that also features the Delta Regional River Park and Big River Trail, creating ties to attractions between Memphis, TN and West Memphis, AR. No matter how you travel it, Big River Crossing provides opportunities for recreation and fitness with a whole new point of view. Big River Crossing features more than 100,000 Philips LED lights that produce hundreds of possible configurations and light distribution patterns to create static displays or dynamic color shows that can be programmed to commemorate special events, holidays and important civic causes. Together with Delta Regional River Park and Big River Trail, BRX creates a new experience with the river that fosters a deeper appreciation of its significance and grandeur. Open daily from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Free to the public.
