OVERTON PARK Shell Concerts

September - October 2023
Free live music every week at the historic amphitheater where Elvis performed his first show? Yes please! The Overton Park Shell brings its ultra-popular free shows this fall with a lineup of touring and local acts on Fridays and Saturdays. Picnics are welcome, or grab dinner from an onsite food truck. Plus, the Shell is partnering with Deaf Connect of the Mid-South to feature Certified Deaf Interpreters at each show.

Southern Heritage Classic

September 7-9, 2023
The historic football matchup between HBCUs Arkansas-Pine Bluff and Tennessee State University is held annually at Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium in Memphis. This year’s game is on Saturday, September 9 with pre-game tailgating and Battle of the Bands, plus the legendary halftime show featuring the schools' bands.

Gonerfest 20

September 28 - October 1, 2023
The 20th annual celebration of punk rock returns in 2023 with three days of shows from nearly 30 bands, including Laundry Bats, Optic Sink, The Mummies, Trampoline Team and many more. Railgarten, a railyard hangout in Midtown Memphis, plays host to this year's festival.

St. Jude Ironman 70.3 Memphis

October 7, 2023
Join thousands of competitors and spectators as they take over Shelby Farms Park for the third-annual St. Jude IRONMAN 70.3 Memphis. Including a 1.2-mile swim, a 56-mile bike ride and a 13.1-mile run, this triathlon totals to a whopping 70.3 miles. Kids can also join in on the action with the IRONKIDS Fun Run at the IRONKIDS 70.3 Memphis Race.

October 21-22, 2023
More than 180 artists, makers and creatives come to Memphis for a weekend of shopping and celebration. Held on Riverside Drive, this event includes live music, food, and art demonstrations.

October 24-29, 2023
Take in local, national and international treasures of the Indie film community at the 26th Indie Memphis Film Festival. Screenings will be held at Circuit Playhouse, Malco Summer Drive-In, Playhouse on the Square and Crosstown Theater.

Halloween and Harvest Events

The Mid-South knows how to celebrate Halloween, with corn mazes, hayrides, haunted houses and scary-fun events. Little ones will love the Le Bonheur Zoo Boo at the Memphis Zoo.
