Fall is here. Now that the breeze is a little cooler and the leaves are beginning to change, this one of the best times to get out and explore Memphis. Check out these major events, concerts, exhibits and more things to do in Memphis this fall.  

SEPTEMBER

Love Never Dies 9/4-9/9
Andrew Lloyd Webber's follow-up musical to Phantom of the Opera appears at Memphis’ historic Orpheum Theatre.
Southern Heritage Classic 9/6-9/8
Music, tailgating and college football as Jackson State takes on Tennessee State in the 29th Southern Heritage Classic at Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium. 
Levitt Shell Fall Concert Series Select dates, 9/6-10/21
This free concert series at Overton Park’s historic Levitt Shell features touring acts and local-favorites. Shows run Thursday through Sunday evenings (note that the 9/29 show is a ticketed event).
30 Thursdays at Memphis Botanic Garden Select dates, 9/6-10/25
Thursday evenings, Memphis Botanic Garden will stay open late for special events including garden tours, botanical-themed cocktail bars, dog-friendly nights and yoga.
Mississippi River Monsters 9/6-9/8
The greatest catfishing tournament this side of the Mississippi. Enter to try and catch 50+ lb catfish for cash prizes and walk through the expo held at Bass Pro Shops at the Pyramid. 
Millington Goat Days 9/7-9/8
This community festival is beloved for its goat parade and goat yoga, battle of the bands, hot air balloon rides, Kid Zone, barbecue contest, antique tractor show and more.
Germantown Festival 9/8-9/9
This long-running community festival (47 years!) promises all the arts and crafts, kids’ activities and live entertainment you’d expect—plus the Running of the Weenies, an annual Dachshund race. 
Pure Memphis Music Series Select dates, 9/13-11/8
Old Dominick Distillery presents intimate concerts by musicians with a connection to Memphis, including Liz Brasher and Dale Watson.
Bobby McFerrin 9/15 GPAC
The voice that has inspired a cappella singers, beatboxers and vocalists of all genres performs at Germantown Performing Arts Center.
Cooper-Young Fest 9/15
The event that brings some 130,000 people to Cooper-Young features 400-plus vendors, stages for live music and open doors to the historic neighborhood’s shops and restaurants.
John Prine 9/15
Two-time GRAMMY-winning singer-songwriter John Prine performs at Memphis’ historic Orpheum Theatre.
2nd Annual Camaro F-Body Nationals 9/21-9/22
All Camaro and Firebird car show, test your driving skills and your f-body performance in autocross, drag racing and more. 
Johnny O’Neal Trio 9/21
The trio appears as part of Germantown Performing Arts Center’s Jazz in the Box series, bringing new and established artists to a cabaret setting—"the hottest little jazz club around.”
Memphis International Auto Show 9/21-9/23
The Memphis Cook Convention Center is transformed into an automotive utopia with hundreds of the newest cars, trucks, crossovers and SUVS. 
2018 Memphis Yoga Festival 9/22
Join Hot Yoga Plus Memphis on the beautiful Rhodes College campus for 30+ yoga classes, kid’s zone, vendors, food trucks, tea garden, walking meditation and more!
Wild ‘N Out Live 9/22
Comedian, actor and producer Nick Cannon presents Wild ‘N Out Live at Memphis’ FedExForum.
Nine Inch Nails 9/24
The band described by The New York Times as a “musical, visual, emotional sensory onslaught” performs at Memphis’ historic Orpheum Theatre.
Gonerfest 15 9/27-9/30
Goner Records, Memphis’ own punk/garage-rock label, kicks this international music festival off across from its record store in the Cooper-Young neighborhood.
Bartlett Festival 9/28-9/29
In addition to arts and crafts, kids’ activities and live music, this community festival features a car show, midway-style rides, a 5K run and a barbecue-cooking contest.
Pride Fest 9/28-9/30
Start at Pride Fest, with two stages for live music and 200 exhibitors, in Tom Lee Park. Then watch (or join in) as the fest’s Pride Parade rolls through the Beale Street Entertainment District.
Steve Martin and Martin Short 9/29
Steve Martin and Martin Short team up for a night of stand-up comedy and live music featuring the Grammy-winning Steep Canyon Rangers at Memphis’ historic Orpheum Theatre.

Memphis Grizzlies NBA Basketball 10/5-4/10
The Grizzlies are back at the FedExForum with the first pre-season game home game against the Atlanta Hawks on October 19. 
Flocktoberfest 10/5-10/14
The world’s greatest hunting expo and sale returns to Bass Pro Shops at the Pyramid. Join thousands for free seminars and demonstrations, live music, kids activities, Duck Calling Championships and a chance to meet  your  favorite outdoor and sports celebrities.  
Mempho Music Festival 10/6-10/7

Day of Merrymaking 10/6

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone in Concert 10/6-10/7

Agricenter Harvest Festival 10/13
A classic fall festival with pumpkin-painting, hayrides, arts and crafts and live bluegrass music—hosted in and around the red barn at the Agricenter. 
A Paranormal Evening with Alice Cooper 10/19
Alice Cooper pioneered a grandly theatrical brand of hard rock designed to shock. Experience his dark and horror-themed theatrics at Memphis’ historic Orpheum Theatre.
Sinne Eeg 10/19

Cooper-Young Beerfest 10/20
This fest’s regional focus means you’ll sample beers from Memphis, as well as regional breweries within a day’s drive of the city.
Soulsville USA Festival 10/20

Soweto Gospel Choir 11/4
“South Africa’s Most Heavenly Voices” will be heard at the Germantown Performing Arts Center.
Wizardfest: A Harry Potter Themed Dance Party 11/7
