About

The Metal Museum is the only institution in the United States devoted exclusively to the art and craft of fine metalwork. The collection includes architectural ironwork, jewelry, holloware, and sculpture. Changing exhibits feature work by national and international metalsmiths. Make sure to visit the Museum Store for unique gifts! This fall marks a major new chapter for the Metal Museum. In September 2026, the museum opens a brand-new campus in the renovated Rust Hall at Overton Park — nearly three times the size of its current location. Designed by WHY Architects, the expanded space features flexible galleries, a purpose-built metal workshop with large windows so visitors can watch metalworking in action, an expanded museum store, a restaurant and new classrooms and studios for hands-on education
