Brother Juniper's

A hearty breakfast can be found at Brother Juniper’s near The University of Memphis. Try the San Diegan, an open-faced omelet topped with home fries, sautéed portabella mushrooms, tomatoes, bacon, green onions, feta and cheddar cheeses. It’s served with grits and diner’s choice of toast or a biscuit (get the biscuit). Lines can get long, so be prepared for a wait, especially on the weekend.

Brother Juniper’s has been featured on the Food Network and is a local favorite.

The Arcade Restaurant

The Arcade (opened in 1919) is a third-generation family-owned restaurant in the South Main Arts District on the trolley line. They serve generous portions of southern-style breakfast including country fried steak with eggs, breakfast casserole, and biscuits and gravy. Their sweet potato pancakes alone have put them on the map – that and the fact that Elvis was a regular.

The Arcade has been featured on the Food Network, Travel Channel and has been the backdrop to numerous feature films.

Bryant’s

You don't go to Bryant's for fancy breakfast – there's not a single frittata or organic spinach omelette on the menu board. Named by Esquire Magazine as one of The Best Breakfast Places in America, Bryant's serves up thick, filling Southern breakfasts with deadly efficiency and ninja-like speed.

Make sure that whatever you order comes with a biscuit. The breakfast sampler, which feeds two normal people or one competitive eater, runs about $9. It’s cheap, it’s good, and you’ll get full. It's hard to beat that.

Cafe Keough

This European-inspired restaurant boasts breakfast pastries, bagels, fresh fruit and an impressive selection of coffee and tea drinks. Grab a drink to go or relax inside. Cafe Keough has high ceilings, a warm atmosphere and offers plenty of space to spread out.

CITY SILO

City Silo in East Memphis cold-presses juices in-house that complement deliciously clean breakfast dishes, from avocado toast and breakfast burritos to acai bowls. Some of their breakfast items are so popular, they serve them all day.

Gibson’s Donuts

If you like your breakfast to fall a little more on the sweet side, go no further than Gibson’s Donuts. Their signature flavor, maple bacon, is delicious morning, noon, or night, and since Gibson’s is open 24/7, you’ll always be able to satisfy your donut craving.
