Here in Memphis, we’re not lost in the sauce. In fact, as the hot wing capital of the world, we’re drowning in it. With more than 200 hot wing restaurants around town, barbecue definitely has some competition.

In Memphis, we go for gold. Honey gold, that is. This popular flavor has captured the hearts, souls, and stomachs of locals and visitors alike. Haven’t had a chance to experience it for yourself? Words can’t do the blend of tangy, savory spices folded into sticky, sweet honey any justice.

The Vergos Family has been making what is now known as “Memphis style barbecue” for over 70 years. Using a combination of Greek and Cajun spices in their iconic dry rub, they’ve made their way into the hearts and stomachs of Memphians and visitors from across the world.
Serving great barbecue since 2002, this spot uses smoke from pecan and hickory wood along with their blend of dry spices to create their barbecue masterpieces. To top it all off, they’re also known for their smoked wings so you can taste two Memphis essentials in one spot!
For more than 35 years, Cozy Corner has smoked everything from ribs and chicken to pork shoulder and sausage. Paired with their signature sauces, these meals have made Corky’s into the Memphis institution it is today.
Just down the street from the University of Memphis, Ching’s has been Memphis Tiger approved for years. Mouthwatering wings are paired with super seasoned fries and they both make for the perfect savory bite. Before you dig in, take a look at all of the pictures on the walls. You’ll definitely see a friend or one of your favorite celebrities!
After coming onto the scene in 2016, the Wing Guru has quickly become one of Memphis’ favorite places to grab some flavorful wings. From the classic flavors like “hot” and “honey gold” to renditions of them such as “garlic sriracha” and “honey hot zing”, the Wing Guru’s handful of flavors are sure to please.

As one of the first to introduce the wing craze to Memphis, Dbo’s has been serving up wings since 1990. With thousands of wings sold since then, this restaurant is definitely a Memphis staple.

In 1922, Leonard’s was the perfect spot to grab a five-cent barbecue sandwich. Almost a century later, it’s still the place to grab a bite of authentic Memphis barbecue. Even “The King” was a regular!
Established in 2002 on Beale Street, this restaurant is known for its succulent smoked pork. Add on some of their iconic sides like baked beans or coleslaw to make a meal that’s authentically Memphis!
Even though they’re home to one of the city’s favorite pulled pork sandwiches, One and Only’s low and slow smoked pork and ribs have also been loved by Memphians since 2011. Whether you’re pairing your meal with twice baked potato salad or Millie’s banana pudding, you’re going to want to go back for more
What started as a food truck in 2014, is now a Medical District staple. Whether you’re looking for a quintessential Memphis wing experience or to try something new like fried fish dipped in their outstanding sauces, the power couple behind Riko’s will get your tastebuds kickin’!

Head to East Memphis for some classic wings! If you’re feeling adventurous and think you can take the heat, try their “questionable decision” or “rad” flavors or stick with another Southern classic and try a catfish basket.
With locations across the city, Crumpy’s offers both a true Memphis experience and a great variety of wing flavors. From dry seasoned to honey hot, there are definitely renditions of your favorite wings on the menu.
