A Day of Tasters: Casting

The Metal Museum offers a roster of innovative and affordable classes in blacksmithing, welding, casting and non-ferrous metals. Whether it's a "taster," a three-hour, one-day or weekend workshop, you are sure to learn a lot, have fun and make beautiful metal items that you can be proud of.
 

In this class, you will make a cast aluminum nameplate using traditional foundry casting techniques. Approximately 1.25" x 4" this makes a great name tag, magnet, or keychain! During the class students will: arrange letters and doodley-dos to customize the nameplate pattern; make a 2 part greensand mold; and patina their finished nameplate.
