Q. What types of sporting events does Memphis host?

A. In 2023, we will host events from futsal to volleyball, welcoming youth to pro players. View all of our sporting events here, and get a feel for some of our biggest annual events: 

Q. How easy is it to get to and around Memphis?

A. Memphis is centrally located within the U.S., easily accessible by carair or train.

  • 10 airlines serve Memphis International Airport, offering nonstop service between the city and more than 30 destinations. 
  • Memphis International Airport is 12 miles (about a 20-minute drive) from Downtown Memphis.
  • Several taxi, shuttle and rideshare options service the airport area; anticipate $18 - $20 via Uber and Lyft or $26 - $28 by taxi to reach downtown from the airport.
  • But first, check with your hotel as the staff may offer complimentary shuttle transportation!
  • You may also be interested in group transportation options and fun ways to get around the city without a car.

Q. What is the total number of sleeping rooms in Memphis hotels?

A. Memphis offers more than 26,000 sleeping rooms citywide, with more than 4,000 of those in Downtown Memphis.
