Women Who Spin returns for year two at Memphis’ art museum, launching Women’s History Month with an electrifying night of music, art, and community—while also marking the official opening of the 2026 Summer Art Garden. This evening celebration centers women creatives across disciplines, transforming the museum into a vibrant space of sound, movement, and connection.

The evening features DJ sets by DJ Brillianaire, DJ Zetta, and DJ Rosamii, each bringing their own sonic perspective to a night that celebrates women behind the decks and at the forefront of culture. As music fills the plaza, guests are invited to dance, explore, and experience the museum in an entirely new way.

Women Who Spin also offers space for deeper engagement through an interactive networking experience facilitated by BitchBopz, designed for women interested in the arts—artists, creatives, collaborators, and supporters alike. This experience will be paired with a participatory collage activation led by Patience Andrews, a Memphis-based multimedia collage artist. Together, participants will help build a collective artwork inspired by women across all artistic mediums, honoring the creativity, resilience, and impact of women throughout history.

This year’s event also celebrates the opening of the Summer Art Garden: Waxprint Wonderland, a bold, immersive installation by Samilia Pelshack. Pelshack is a Nigerian-American fashion designer and artist who holds a Fine Arts degree from Memphis College of Art. Her work is deeply influenced by her cultural background and upbringing, drawing on themes of family, community, wisdom, and spirituality. In Waxprint Wonderland, Pelshack brings a surrealist vision to life using the vibrant patterns and colors of waxprint textiles. Braided triangular forms, monkeys, and gourds appear throughout the installation—symbolic elements representing strength, connection, and ancestral knowledge—inviting visitors into a joyful, layered environment that celebrates heritage and imagination.

Come dance, connect, create, and experience the opening of the Summer Art Garden alongside a powerful celebration of women in music and the arts. Join us for a night where creativity takes center stage and culture spins forward.
