Chris Stamey returns to the Green Room to share an eclectic chamber pop program of music from his upcoming record release!
"Anything Is Possible" (out July 11) is the latest collection of original material from North Carolina songwriter / vocalist / guitarist / producer Chris Stamey, an indie rock icon with a long and illustrious history that’s encompassed co-founding seminal avant-pop band the dBs, playing with Alex Chilton in the 70s, and more recently withJody Stephens & Big Star Quintet and the all-star smart-pop outfit the Salt Collective.
He will be performing detailed acoustic arrangements of songs from the record and from his “5 decades betwixt pen and pick” with a “chamber-pop” ensemble of some of Memphis’s finest: Jonathan Kirkscey, cello; Janaina Fernandez, violin; Catie Balsamo, flute; and Jim Spake, saxophone.
Opening the show is Memphis violinist Alice Hasen!
