About C. Rose Smith

C. Rose Smith joined MBMA in 2023, bringing extensive experience in nineteenth and early twentieth-century photography preservation and curation. Previously, Smith managed photography collections at Boston University Libraries and the George Eastman Museum. Smith holds an MFA from the Rochester Institute of Technology and a BFA from the Savannah College of Art and Design, complemented by specialized certification in photograph care from Gawain Weaver Art Conservation.
