Stars & Stripes Ballet & Jazz Workshop

Stars & Stripes Workshop Summer Camp is a ballet & jazz dance workshop intensive for dedicated teens in Memphis, Germantown, Cordova, Collierville and beyond! Children’s Ballet Theater welcomes all area teen ballet dancers with intermediate/advanced technique, to ignite their passion and celebrate the spirit of Balanchine New York City style this summer with our amazing and professional faculty! This dynamic workshop offers a challenging and inspiring exploration of classical ballet and its vibrant American counterpart, jazz dance, culminating in a spirited performance showcasing growth and artistry. Participants will refine their classical foundation through daily advanced ballet technique classes, focusing on strength and precision, and large jumps in allegro, multiple turns, and pointe work. Included each day will be coaching in variations and repertoire work inspired by the famed the “Stars and Stripes” by George Balanchine. The workshop furthermore delves into the energy and versatility of jazz dance with famed choreographer and master teacher for CBT Steven Prince Tate. Adding to the experience, dancers will be coached in a choreography section such as Clara or the Sugar Plum Fairy from our “Clara & the Nutcracker”. All choreography taught during the workshop will be featured in a final studio performance for family and friends, showcasing the participants' hard work and newfound skills.
