Enjoy the music. Experience the purpose. Fuel the mission.

The Memphis Soul Music Festival returns with a powerful celebration of artistry, legacy, and community. Rooted in the traditions of jazz, gospel, and R&B, this festival brings audiences together for an evening that uplifts and inspires through the power of music.

Headlining the evening: Lalah Hathaway

Five-time Grammy Award winner Lalah Hathaway is one of the most celebrated voices of her generation. Her artistry flows seamlessly through jazz, soul, R&B, and gospel. Over her remarkable career, she has released eight acclaimed solo albums and collaborated with legends like Prince, Stevie Wonder, and Herbie Hancock, as well as contemporary innovators Kendrick Lamar, Anderson .Paak, and Robert Glasper.

Often called “music royalty,” Hathaway carries forward the legacy of her father, the late Donny Hathaway, while continuing to shape the future of soul music on her own terms. She shares the record with Beyoncé for the most Grammy wins in the “Best Traditional R&B Performance” category, and her latest Grammy-nominated project, VANTABLACK, showcases the artistry and vision that continue to define her work.

Opening the night: Isaiah Sharkey

Isaiah Sharkey is a Chicago-born guitarist and multi-instrumentalist widely regarded as one of the most versatile musicians of his generation. Blending soul, jazz, R&B, funk, and blues, he has performed with The Isley Brothers, John Mayer, and Patti LaBelle. He is also a Grammy Award winner for his work with D’Angelo and The Vanguard on the acclaimed album Black Messiah. His playing is celebrated for both technical mastery and deep soul, bringing a dynamic energy to every performance.

Powered by purpose

Proceeds from the festival benefit SisterReach, Inc., Tennessee’s only Reproductive and Sexual Justice organization, based in Memphis. SisterReach centers the voices of Black women, teens of color, LGBTQIA+ individuals, gender-expansive people, and their families through education, advocacy, arts and culture, and harm reduction.
