The Metal Museum offers a roster of innovative and affordable classes in blacksmithing, welding, casting and non-ferrous metals. Whether it's a "taster," a three-hour, one-day or weekend workshop, you are sure to learn a lot, have fun and make beautiful metal items that you can be proud of.
In this two-day workshop, students will explore the fundamentals of blacksmithing by forging a BBQ fork, a steak turner, and additional grill utensils if time allows. Techniques will include tapering, bending, twisting, hot cutting, chiseling, scrolling, upsetting, and finishing. Students should expect to leave with two functional kitchen utensils. This class can be used as a prerequisite for Intermediate Blacksmithing and Sunday Open Studio.
