Memphis Sport Hall Of Fame Nomination Form

Inaugural/Bicentennial Class

BACKGROUND:  The Memphis Sports Council, a division of Memphis Tourism (formerly the Memphis Convention and Visitor’s Bureau) is collaborating with the Memphis Redbirds to create the new Memphis Sports Hall of Fame and Experience.  Coinciding with Memphis’ 200th Anniversary, the Memphis Sports Hall of Fame and Experience mission is to honor our area’s top athletes, coaches, administrators and contributors while exposing a new generation of athletes to Memphis’ rich sports tradition.  Our vision is to promote the legacy and impact of sports on the greater Memphis community, serve as a vehicle to honor sports legends and educate area youth on the value of athletics and the lessons learned through sportsmanship, teamwork, dedication and a healthy lifestyle.

The Memphis Sport Hall of Fame and Experience, to be located on the Press Level of AutoZone Park, will be a free attraction to those attending events at the ballpark as well as visitors on non-event days.  Selection to the Hall of Fame will be by a 35-Member Advisory Committee consisting of a diverse group of Memphis and Shelby County sports experts, members of the sports media and local community leaders.
