Hattiloo Theatre

Musical adaptation of "A Raisin in the Sun." Set in segregated 1950s Chicago, the play tells the story of a black family's struggle in the face of change.

Hattiloo Theatre enhances audience's appreciation for the diversity and nuances of Black theatre, and provides opportunities for otherwise underutilized local actors and directors to develop their crafts. Hattiloo produces plays, not merely for entertainment, but as a means for creating broader access to and appreciation of diversity within the arts - a vehicle for deeper cultural enrichment, beneficial to people of all life experiences, ethnicities and strata of socioeconomic status.
