Mississippi, New Orleans and Memphis Team to Promote ‘Jazz & Blues Golf Holidays’ Globally

Mississippi and two neighboring cities are partnering to offer a collection of holiday packages to international travelers that showcase the Mid-South USA region.

Trip highlights include authentic American music genres, superb golf courses and iconic attractions like Graceland and Beale Street in Memphis; the French Quarter in New Orleans, where jazz burst resonantly to life; and Mississippi, “The Birthplace of America’s Music,” from blues to country to rock and roll.

“We are thrilled to partner with Memphis and New Orleans to package our culturally rich destinations for the international visitor,” said Malcolm White, Visit Mississippi Director. “No other place in North America combines the golf, music and the authentic cultural flavors of New Orleans, Memphis and Mississippi.”

The 10- to 21-day travel itineraries feature rounds of golf at award-winning courses like TPC Louisiana and English Turn in New Orleans, TPC Southwinds and Mirimichi in Memphis, and the Jack Nicklaus designed Grand Bear Golf Course and Fallen Oak on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

“This partnership will bring together like marketing minds and help us grow our share of the international market that is so important as we embrace and develop new markets to grow the economic value of tourism,” said Kevin Kane, President & CEO Memphis Convention and Visitors Bureau.

Additional stops include Elvis Presley’s birthplace in Tupelo, mouth-watering BBQ on Beale Street in Memphis, Morgan Freeman’s Ground Zero Blues Club in Mississippi and the famous Bourbon Street in New Orleans.

Itineraries can be customized to include gaming at casino resorts, Antebellum Era home tours, museums, shopping, Southern-style cuisine, deep sea fishing, boat cruises and more.
