Levitt Shell Concerts

September - October
Free live music every week at the historic amphitheater where Elvis performed his first show? Yes please! The Levitt Shell brings its ultra-popular free shows this fall with a lineup of touring and local acts on Fridays and Saturdays. Picnics are welcome, or grab dinner from an onsite food truck.

Southern Heritage Classic

September 9-11
The historic football matchup between HBCUs Jackson State University and Tennessee State University is held annually at the Liberty Bowl in Memphis. This year’s game is on Saturday, September 11 with pre-game tailgating and Battle of the Bands, plus the infamous halftime show featuring TSU’s Aristocrat of Bands and JSU’s Sonic Boom of the South.

Cooper Young Festival

September 18
The biggest one-day festival in the state of Tennessee returns to the “historically hip” arts district of Cooper Young this year with hundreds of shopping booths, multiple music stages, and great things to eat and drink.

Gonerfest 18

September 23-26
The 18th annual celebration of punk rock returns in 2021 with three days of shows from more than 30 bands including The Spits, Reigning Sound, Quintron & Miss Pussycat and many more. Most of the shows this year are outdoors at Railgarten, with opening “ceremonies” at the Cooper Young Gazebo and additional shows at Memphis Made Brewing.

Mempho Music Festival

October 1-3
Catch there days of live music at the featuring headliners Widespread Panic, The Avett Brothers, Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats, and Black Pumas at the Memphis Botanic Garden for the annual Mempho music festival, back for 2021.

Grizzlies Games

Games begin in October
Watch world-class athletes in fierce competition at the Memphis grizzlies NBA games at FedExForum steps away from Beale Street. With tasty stadium snacks, giveaways, and in-game entertainment makes a Grizz game fun for the whole family.

Orpheum Broadway Series

Begins in October
The historic Orpheum Theatre hosts traveling Broadways shows for their 2021-2022 season starting with Come From Away on October 5-10, and continuing with smash hits like Disney’s The Lion King, Hamilton, CATS, Mean Girls, and more.

St. Jude Ironman 70.3 Memphis

October 2
Join thousands of competitors and spectators as they take over Shelby Farms Park for the inaugural St. Jude IRONMAN 70.3 Memphis. Including a 1.2-mile swim, a 56-mile bike ride and a 13.1-mile run, this triathlon totals to a whopping 70.3 miles.  Kids can also join in on the action with the IRONKIDS Fun Run at the IRONKIDS 70.3 Memphis Race.

Memphis Brewfest and Brunchfest

October 16-17
Ready for a weekend of craft brews and local brunch fare? Memphis Brewfest will welcome 40+ breweries from around the globe to Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium. Enjoy unlimited beer samples, food trucks, live music and more. The following day, head back to the stadium for bloody marys, brunch favorites and live jazz at Brunchfest.

River Arts Festival

October 23-24
More than 180 artists, makers, and creatives come to Memphis for a weekend of shopping and celebration. Held at the new Renasant Convention Center, this event includes live music, food, and art demonstrations.

The Mid-South knows how to celebrate Halloween, with corn mazes, hayrides, haunted houses and scary-fun events. Little ones will love the Le Bonheur Zoo Boo at the Memphis Zoo.
