March 20: Cherry Trees

Sponsored by Japanese Traders and Manufacturers Association. Celebrate spring among the Sakura (cherry blossoms) in our Japanese Garden. Enjoy a relaxing picnic lunch from Asian-inspired food trucks while you learn the history and symbolism of our Japanese Garden with a self-guided tour of Seijaku-en (Japanese Garden of Tranquility).

March 27: Spring Ephemerals

Discover native wildflowers such as Trillium, bellwort, Virginia bluebells, and celandine poppies as they make their brief annual appearance in our Wildflower Woodlands. As you explore the woodland area you'll learn more about native plants and their historical uses while enjoying this special and less-structured space.

April 3: Spring Bulbs

Tiptoe through the tulips...but don't forget to enjoy the daffodils, hyacinth, and more that make spring come alive at the Garden. Beds throughout explode with color and don't forget to check out our living "quilts" in My Big Backyard.

April 10: Southern Delights

Azaleas and dogwoods delight throughout the Garden. Enjoy these and other plants that thrive in a southern landscape as you make your spring garden plans with expert tips!

April 17: Irises

Celebrate Tennessee's state flower as hundreds of varieties of irises steal the show in our Iris Garden. Plus learn more about some of Tennessee's other state treasures!
