Derae Restaurant

923 S. Highland
Memphis, TN 38111

If you love East African and Mediterranean cuisine, head to Derae Restaurant on S. Highland. They are a family owned and operated restaurant with a culinary team boasting more than 25 years experience.

Their goal is to serve delicious food with a personal touch – to treat you like part of the family. So, needless to say, the service and food is great. Try the fuul for a delicious stew-like dish made from fava that you dip with some of the best wheat bread around. The hanid is a tasty goat dish served with rice topped with a mild meat sauce.

They close pretty early so you need to plan ahead if you go for dinner. They are open Tuesday – Sunday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

It's a casual, small space – super clean – with free WiFi. Call them if you're interested in booking the place for groups or a private party. They also cater and will deliver within a three-mile radius.
