Two hundred skilled metalsmiths from across the country will be at the Metal Museum for Repair Days in September. People can make arrangements to have their favorite metal objects repaired by skilled artists. In addition, there will be blacksmithing demos, family fun activities, performances by Opera Memphis, auction and much more.

About the museum: The Metal Museum is the only institution in the United States devoted exclusively to the preservation and promotion of fine metalwork and they have a stunning permanent collection to prove it. This unassuming two story building houses than 3,000 objects with some dating back 500 years displaying unique pieces from contemporary American sculpture to Gothic European lock boxes. With additional changing exhibits (about every 10 weeks), you can see the best contemporary metal art by national and international smiths. Make sure to check out the Museum Store for one-of-a-kind gift items.

General museum admission applies to view the indoor exhibits if you don't have a repair ticket. Adults $6, Seniors 62+ $5 and Students (with valid ID) and children 5-18 $4. Free for children under 5. The museum store may be visited free of charge.
